Towhees Abound at Balboa Park
California Towhees (Pipilo crissalis) occupy the shrubs and such near the bowling green just west of Balboa Park.

The California Towhees appreciate a variety of substrates in the park.
“There’s a feeling I get When I look to the west . . .“
And maybe his “spirit is crying for leaving . . .“? This is unlikely considering that he is nonmigratory.
